About Indira Initiative

Reg Char. No. 20398

To whom it may concern,

The Indira Initiative is a charity founded by a Limerick native just a year and a quarter ago. We got our name from the Hindu Goddess Indira also known as Lakshmi She is the Goddess of wealth, prosperity (both material and spiritual), fortune, and the embodiment of beauty.. She is said to bring good luck and is believed to protect her devotees from all kinds of misery and money-related sorrows.

The Indira Initiative is a totally not for profit organisation supported by the donation of school books and uniforms by Limerick residents, which are then sold onto families where the current strain of the excessively high cost of books and uniforms can even lead to children being kept out of school to save embarrassment. We feel that all children should be helped get the education they are entitled by our constitution.

In addition to our book and uniform service we run a homework club catering for children of all ages from 6 to 18 with and without special needs, this is done with the aid of students and staff from both Mary I., U.L., and L.I.T..

Education for all is our main goal as through this the money divided is narrowed and all can compete equally in life and business.
